I want to tell you
it will be ok
that the world is a wonderful place -
things i truly believe
but i cannot
such phrases are cliches to you
hollow words made false
many times over
giving me no right
to even speak them
i wish there was something i could say
to give you hope
in my naive mind
the reach of free will
is infinite
even pain
is a choice
but for you
pain is a part of you
wrapped and intertwined
inseparable
a concept foreign to me
so all i can do is listen
powerless
wordless
helpless
unable to be of any use
to you
as
I
watch
you
falling

I liked the final stanza, how you formatted it to represented the falling. THe contrast between the narrator and friend puts the impact in the words, I think. Good write ~ Yvylyn
