i pulled songlines from your sad eyes
tears strung on spiderweb the morning after
silk drawn from the milk of your laughter
liquid bone we drank to grow strong
and farm the skeleton of buried song
we sit in the sunlight of this quiet garden
drinking heat, waiting for our wings to harden
this is the hour of transformation
realisation of dreams in our re-creation
we met where the moonlight ebbs
and tears are strung on spiderwebs
we go to where futures are farmed
and those who believe are never harmed

Beautiful. Nice imagery. There were several lines that I really liked.

Great piece, Paul. Reminds me strongly of "Charlotte's Web" as I just saw the new movie with my family and greatly enjoyed it. I truly appreciate the ease of rhyming and rhythm you maintain here, and the simplicity of the imagery. Thanks for sharing it. --MarkA

'i pulled songlines from your sad eyes' - this instantly pulled me in. Reminds me of a school summer, sad but uplifting, thank you.
