Women Rise

Rise,
from deep in life like sweet
rumbles of thunder in spring
pregnant with passion for living
filled with love for giving

Rise,
to the sky with spirits of steel
never wavering even in doubt
always holding a steady pace
for earth is hallowed ground

Rise,
to reach for and taste the mud
of generations upon giving birth,
tender and strong of heart and back
sustaining all that men cannot

Rise,
from priestess to prostitutes
sacred all made to conceive and lead
for when women fall, truth corrupts
with edicts imprisoned in lies

Rise,
against conformity driven values
that pass evils from dark to light
until lies ring true and battles
tear our children from our hearts

Some extremely good sequences here. The first two lines are some of the better lines I have read in a while. The rest of the poem is good and definately warrants a second read.
