I began thinking today that life was not a matter of being interconnected but rather an idea of sameness. We are all the same. Begin with a blank copy. Choose several options and then some how you've come out with an individual. It is not necessarily that we are different but that we are the same with different options. Here is what I mean.

Sally and Bob are two human copies. There is no difference in them. In fact the names I have chosen for them are just options in the name blank. As we lay out Sally and Bob one beside the other I see an option pop up that asks which sex would I like to make each of them. I choose female for Sally and Male for Bob. . . quite naturally of course.

Another option pops up. Choose color. Of course this option might be before sex but I thought of this one last. So I make Sally peach and Bob brown. I choose hair, I choose physique. Bob is black haired while Sally is red haired. Bob is round around the middle. Sally is round up top. I keep making choice after choice. It's like creating a Sim really. They are all the same. But then comes the big question of what is the difference? Well Bob and Sally know they are different. A lifeless copy that we create could not know that it was anything other than what it was. An interesting idea.
