Chapter 5.

'Hmm'�It seems like a pretty nice day outside, I'll call Bill and Sean and see if they want to hang out at the pool later.'� Kimmi thought to herself.
'It was a warm, spring Saturday afternoon in the city of Tampa Bay. The trees were coming back in bloom, after being blown away from last year's weather.
Kimmi was lying outside, around her pool, relaxing from the previous day.
'Maybe the boys would like to come over for a swim. Yeah, I need to take a break from all of this.'� She sighed to herself, as she reached for her cell phone.
'Hello?'�
'Yeah, who is it?'� Sean's voice asked.
'It's me, Kim.'�
'Do you need something?'�
'Yeah, I wanted to know if you and Bill would like to come over for a swim later?'�
'Uh, let me see if my schedule is clear.'�
'He he, Sean, your schedule's always clear.'� She laughed.
'Hey, that's personal! And yeah, I'll come over; I got nothing else better to do.'�
'Excellent, bring your water guns, if Bill comes, we'll ambush him!'� said Kim with a devilish voice.
'Okay, I'll be over in ten.'�
'Alright, bye.'�
'Later.'�
As she put the phone back into her bag, she noticed something large and black move about the hedges.
'What the'�.what was that? Oh well, probably just a squirrel, or some sort of rodent.'� She thought to herself.
'Beep!'� Kim's phone sang
'Hello?'� she asked.
'Hey, it's me, Terra.'�
'Hey Terra, what's going on?'�
'Just asking if I can come over, you know, just relax at the pool and talk for a while.'�
'Okay, but Sean and Bill are coming over too.'�
'What!?'� Terra yelled as she blushed.
'Ooh, that's right, you are in love with Sean still, aren't you?'�
'Uh'�maybe, wh-what does it m-matter to you?'� she stuttered.
'Well, since he's coking over, he'll be in his swimming trunks, and you could just wear that cute bikini that we picked out last year. Bill and I could go get drinks and leave you two alone in the pool, and then is your chance to ask him out.'�
'But, doesn't he like someone else? I always see him flirting with a few other girls.'�
'That's just Sean, he's a freakin flirt, that's how he is. He'll change for you, I know it.'�
'A-are you sure?'�
'Without a doubt, come on over.'�
'Okay.'�
'Later.'�
'Bye.'�
Just as she hung up, she saw Sean riding his bike toward her house.
'Sean, I'm back here, in the pool.'�
'Okay, gimme a sec.'� Sean said as he hopped the fence. 'Did you get a dog?'�
'No, why?'�
'There was something that ran under the bushes.'�
'I thought that was a squirrel.'�
'It was too big, do ya think I should kill it?'�
'No way! You know how I feel about that?'�
'Fine. Ooh, who is that?'� Sean asked.
'Hey guys!'� Terra yelled from the distance.
Terra was on her roller blades. She was wearing her hot-pink, two piece bikini, and she had let her long, blonde hair down.
'Terra? Is that you?'� Sean asked with a look of amassment on his face.
'Yep, I let my hair down. No use looking formal around friends.'�
'Hmm'�guess not.'� Sean muttered to himself.
'And so all we have to do now is wait for Bill.'� Said Kimmi.

'So, um, Sean, how did you three become friends again?'� pondered Terra.
'I don't know, to be honest. Kim and I hang out at the diner, and Bill came over and apologized, bought us some steaks, and there it was.'�
'Hmm'�.interesting.'�
'Heads up, lovebirds!'�
'What the hell!'� Sean yelled as the three were pelted with water balloons.
'Bill, you jerk, that was a little overkill, don't you think!?'� Yelled Terra angrily.
'Eh, should've paid better attention. I've been sitting here for a good five minutes. Kim's asleep, and you tow have been chatting forever.'� Bill said with a sly grin.
'Talk about a rude awakening.'� Kim said as she rose off her cot. 'Bill, we need to talk, inside.'�
'Wait, I don't like that, you said the magic words that mean I'm in trouble.'�
'No, nothing like that, we just gotta, you know, talk.'�
'Uh, I still don't get it, but whatever, let's go."
Sean and Terra were finally alone. Now Terra knew it was time for her to make her move on Sean.
'Sean?'�
'Yeah?'� He vaguely said as he was splashing around.
'I'�I just wanted to ask you something.'�
'What?'�
'Well'�I've kinda wanted to go'�'�
Just as Terra was asking, Sean closed his eyes and planted his lips on hers.
'Sean?'� Terra said, blushing bright red from the shock and the enjoyment.
'Terra, I have been in love with you for a long time,'� Sean said with a deep, romantic voice, 'I just didn't have what it took to ask you to your face.'�
'Sean, I-I don't know what to say, this happened way to fast.'�
'Just say yes, you will be my girl.'�
'Okay! I will! I love you so much Sean! This is one of the greatest moments of my life!'�
'Same goes double for me.'�
'So, are you on for a movie later?'�
'Sure, why no-'
Just as Sean was accepting the date, he was suddenly dragged underwater.
'Sean? If this is a joke, it's not funny.'�
'�..
'Sean!? SEAN!!!'�
Kimmi and Bill both burst out the house when they heard the young girl's panicked screaming.
'Hey, what's going on out here!? Where's Sean!?'�
Suddenly the crisp blue water began shining a crimson glow.
'We have to get him out of there!'� screamed Kimmi.
'Damn'�I'm going in!'� Bill boldly stepped up.
Before Terra could protest, Bill had already jumped in. A few moments later, Sean had come out of the water, his leg torn wide open.
'Get me a knife!'� Gasped Sean, 'Hurry up Kim!'�
She then sprinted into the house and grabbed her hunting knife.
'Sean,'� cried Terra, 'What's going on?'�
'I don't know, but whatever that thing is, it's trying to kill us.'�
The thrashing underwater stopped.
'I'll handle this.'� Kimmi said as she ran out of the house with her knife in hand.
'No way, I won't let you get hurt!'� Sean protested.
'Too bad, you're already hurt; you'll likely be killed if you jump in. I'll go.'�
'Stop being so damn stupid! I can handle this myself!'�
'Listen to me, the one man that I actually love is down there. And I'm wasting time arguing with you!'�
With that, she jumped in the bloody water. She slashed at the beast and managed to get it away from Bill. As he swam back up, he looked at her worried, but she signaled him to keep going. When Bill resurfaced, Sean and Terra pulled him out of the water and back to his feet. The three looked at the blood-stained water in silence for two minutes, until the thrashing subsided. Then Kimmi ascend out of the water. She had cuts and bruises where she had been bitten and assaulted.
'Oh my God! Kimmi, are you okay?'� tearfully screamed Terra, who was currently terrified out of her mind.
'Yeah, just a few scratches.'� She gasped.
'Shit, this is freakin killin' me. Bill, go in the house and call the ambulance.'� Moaned Sean.
'Gotcha.'� Replied Bill as he ran in the house to grab his cell phone.
'Hmm, I know what this is all about.'� Growled Kimmi. 'I guess Terra's involved now as well.'�
'I would never have thought the devil would make house calls. Looks like we're in for it pretty deep.'� Spoke Sean in a low voice, 'This isn't over, in fact, this is the absolute least of our worries.'�
