Wide and Bright
****
The dark navy of the sky
sweep breeze
wrapped around me
silk sleeves
the thump of imposing civilization
still rung out
threw the ground
I left the carnival behind me
into the natural born
ahead of me.
lay a body of rock, spawning,
specs of light
shone from each separate
face, a soft glow
emits pure perfection
above I looked and was revealed the source
she stood alone in the dark
perched above upon an invisible branch
then she smiled
and gestured me near
she was beautiful in all of her brilliance
stature and pose
the watcher
the guardian
I smile of reply
and offered my hand, she did take it
and gently, I was lead
we became a leaf tapped in
the swirling wind
and floated northeast toward the seas
she lowered me down on a mountain of ice
afloat on syrup black water
I stood in silence
And waited for her to speak
it was by the sixth hour I grew grim
why will you not speak to me?
The silence thickened and inside me
Annoyance gave birth to anger
And I wanted to destroy
The silence!
But still no answer
-why do you still not speak to me.
She deserted me but yet
remained in front of me
Suddenly
I grew afraid
of my surroundings, realizing
the dark open..
cold
indifferent air
I began to fear and it flooded me
trembles to my knees
my heart beat.
sweat down my forehead and back
I couldn't swallow
my throat was dry
then she spoke, one moment before
the pulse of the last beat
the place you were just in
leads to sorrow and dull faces
avoid that place..
there's a promise of loss
yet this object of space
is no bigger than an ant
relieve
yourself
of it
and instill endless happiness
at this moment she disappeared
dissolved, swept along
with the northeastern wind
and I was returned
curled atop the bed of rock
a young girl stood over me, concerned
hey mister, are you ok? ' I saw you from over there
the tiny pink finger pointed to
the mustering's of the carnival
her eyes wide and bright reflected
the image
of the moon
I smiled at her.
