I'm stressed out
Trussed up
a green knight
in shining armour gone wrong.
A badly written song
with a predictable key change.
Slightly deranged
Inventing scenarios
about screen lotharios
Who's audition you would not pass.
And on the Director's couch
you would not be cast.
That role is not you.
But I keep trying to stick
that ill befitting shoe
on the wrong foot.
Attacking myself
with little paper cuts
while on your blood
I suck.
I devour
every hour.
Each shade that Spring could be
Frog, blade, sweet pea
is me.
Cave girl's slave
I batter you on the head
with my inventions
that don't matter
or exist
I barter
I cannot resist.
Feeling I lack
constantly I insist
On derailing
to the wrong track.
For in a tower
you would save me.
Sleeping beauty deep sleep
your kiss awakened me.
The poisoned apple
from Snow White
You'd take the bite
To save me from fatal plight.
Surpassing any hero from a fairytale page,
Transcending those on any stage
The magic slippers rightful possessor
Me, your suitor
and heart spilling confessor.
My own short stories, the truth
keep bending.
could you really be my happy ending?
