Alone Without You

Lay your head upon my chest,
Feel the beating of my heart, that calls out your name
Against the breathing of your soul.

In the light of daybreak, the breezes
Whisper softly, the chill of autumn songs
Into the night.

Slowly breaking molds, and tearing at the folds
Of pages that I wish to keep in mind.

Run your fingers through my hair
Keep me close and don't you dare
Leave my side until the morning light

It's time to sink or swim.
In the time of truth begin.
We started this, so baby, let's keep on.

There's something in that smile, that has
Come, to drive me simply wild
And the years are never dull in moments of the wind

You breezed into my life, not a care, without a strife
Suddenly, I knew this simply wasn't so.

Within minutes you were here
Those eyes that shone so blue
Could instantly be filled with bitter tears

I wanted just so badly, to wipe away your fears
To chase away the demons that lay inside.

Give your heart to me
Trust your soul within my hands.
Know that I will always be right here.

I am not the one you knew before
The one who laughed at you, that whore
I will not see the end without you near.

Your sweet breath upon my face
Baby, just you see and wait.
When the sun comes up tomorrow
I will touch your lips and make it real

Keep me close beneath the covers
Cocooned within the warmth
The beat of love between our bodies,
As they mold so perfectly.

You have your dreams and nightmares
I accept the flaws within you
Know that you are never once alone.

I will be your rock, your light-
Your savior.
Your truth and your support
Defending you, and loving you

Until the very end.

Don't leave me here to mourn you
When the world becomes too much.
I know that what you long for
Is something that I fight against,
Bringing out the very creature you abhor.

Please know that I am with you,
Holding you against me.
Fighting for the things we dream to keep alive.

You are the life within my soul
The very reason I have something in my life
In which to hold.

Don't leave me now to cry my tears
Wishing that you were here.
There is something I think that you should know
I will never ever leave you

Here alone.

You had me at the first stanza Rachael. Beautiful, beautiful write. I just wish I can feel this way again. Sigh. This is a tough situation to be in, and it takes a strong woman to keep fighting. This truly shows the depths of a woman's heart. Well done. =)
