Buzzin

This darling is the sound of settling.
Brick heavy eyelids and feather light arms,
cold feet cold feet, wouldn't you like to meet
the girl of your dreams? She's waiting,
impatiently. Talking to walls like they're
gonna talk back. Say something, say something.
Sign language in the back seat.
What did you mean what did you mean
with your fingertip in my skin like that.
Sometimes I reek of gratitutde,
godlike in my eyes so don't transform
into anyone, I like like you who you are.
Glowing stars, I hate this rhyming thing.
Love sensations, creations,
breathing patterns that I try to paint
and I can never make you do something.
No on can make you do anything.
When I squeeze, the vibrations of your voice
just sink in, and I blink and it all just blends.
I always thought perfection can't be
captured in one moment but baby
you do everything I thought I'd never see.
Anything can happen, make it possible.
Tossing and turning, eager to learn
how to sleep next to someone else than my conscious.
I was blue as death and now I'm alive and red--
everything bright and endless as the sky.
I am infinite so hold it to me,
take every word as a promise 'fore I will follow through.
Never believed in anything but now I knock on wood
and watch the clock and take blood,
sweat and tears to the heart.
I repeat, I repeat, I didn't know I could feel like this.
Like the acid on my lips just turned to bliss.
Ringing phones symbolic, life on hold.
Buzzing from above and below.
Love, love, love, love, love.
Like you were writing the definition.
We are, we are. We're the start.
So love me as if the end cannot be seen,
just believe, just believe in fairies, lead and me.

Glorious read! I can also hear this as a spoken word, but also do not get the "lead" part. The last line is the only one that doesn't rock, imho. I really FEEL this piece.

love is always the ruler over pain...you express this with no interruption...no breaks....love continues.

Really good vocal poem, i can imagine someone standing up and reciting this with passion (you perhaps?) and it does well to not turn pretentious. (though it might seem pretentious on a stage.) the informality of it worked really well, and there was an almost voyeuristic caste to it which drew me in. With this in mind, i would say delete 'i hate this rhyming thing' because it jars the reader into remembering they're reading a poem. It reads like an inner monologue, and that line is really out of place. Your repetition was used sparingly but well. the last 4 lines were really strong; love like you're writing the definition, like the end cannot be seen - really good. Only thing is i didnt get the final 3 words. believe in 'lead and me.' 'lead' seemed out of place.

Very good though. Enjoyable.

You see? This is the kind of love poem I feel like writing. So conversational and everything is just right.

Thanks, I feel inspired.
