Cocaine Scripted Life

The smudged mirror showed every pore
I couldn't look away
My mother warned me about this
Sharing lovers liquids on blue unwashed sheets
Feeling the powdered ice shoot through my nose
Amd swim down my throat
I can't help but think that this is growing up
Lighting cigarettes, tracing the shapes of clouds
With a finger thats sore from placing blame
I can't help but hope this all one big joke..
Waiting for the laugh track

Feeling like a stranger in my house
I wait
and stare
He says he knows what I'm going through
And what we have is perfect
I tell him he doesn't have to say anything at all
And can leave before I zip my pants up
But he stays
One arm draped over me
Like raggedy Andy
Like he's following the script of what he thinks I want

But what I want is for the dress rehersal to be over
And the show to go on

Past anger;Past bitterness; This is the feeling I get from these verses
past hope...Brutal bitter honesty. Good Read! Good work! Tell it like it is.
