Amy and Annie

Amy: Um, I really need to talk to you about something that's been bothering me for ages, ah-

Annie: Why what's wrong?

Amy: Um, well you know when we went to Paris-

Annie: Yeah

Amy: A while ago um we met the mime Pierre.

Annie: Yeah I remember that guy

Amy: A-and well we chatted, well he didn't chat that much but then we spoke to him a lot. Well when you went out other places I met up with him and stuff.

Annie: I can't believe you didn't tell me about that.

Amy: Well, it was kind of embarrassing cause you know'¦he's a mime! Um.

Annie: Do you like him?

Amy: Yeah, I really do! And I think he likes me, but then there's George back home um.

Annie: George, as in George from school, as in your-

Amy: Yeah, known forever, parents knew each other, that George.

Annie: Oh, okay, that George.

Amy: Who I've been seeing for ages. Um, but now I've met Pierre I don't really know which one's for me'¦cause I mean, George is really rich and everyone loves him, he's charming, but then, I don't know. Does he really love me or is he just with me cause-I don't know.

Annie: Cause everyone expects you to be since you two have always been good friends since you were kids.

Amy: Yeah
Annie: Um, what about Pierre? Have you still-Are you still in contact with him?

Amy: Yeah, we've been writing to each other ever since-he even called me a few times. And, yeah. I just really don't know what to do. I mean, Pierre's never said that he loves me, George does, but-

Annie: But has Pierre shown that he has had any feelings for you?

Amy: Well sort of, nothing as dashing and romantic as George. But then that's just the kind of person George is, whereas Pierre is more reserved and you know.

Annie: Cause he's a mime.

Amy: Yeah, he's more silent.

Annie: Do you like George?

Amy: As a friend. I mean, we've always been friends. We were born on the same day and the same room, so we've always been there for each other. But he's always just a friend. I don't think if he could be anything more. You know, I am going out with him now, but you know, but that's just cause-like you said, it's kind of expected. So I don't-I really don't know what to do. See, I would have a future with George, but-
Annie: But you really like Pierre.

Amy: Yeah. And I think Pierre likes me. I mean, in the things he's written'¦and said.

Annie: But he's a mime.

Amy: Well, he doesn't speak that much, but you know.

Annie: Do you think you could have a future with Pierre?

Amy: I don't know, I mean-he works on the streets'¦as a mime. But he has been writing. So he could have a future in that, but I suppose if you really love someone, it doesn't really matter where you end up.

Annie: That's true. And you could also illustrate his books, since you want to be an illustrator.

Amy: Yeah, there's always that. But what would you do? Cause, you know both of them-you've known George as long as I have.

Annie: Well, I know you really well, and I think that you would go really well with Pierre, and I think that'it seems that-that you really like Pierre more than you like George, so you could, I dunno'¦go with Pierre I suppose.

Amy: It would be a big step, though, going to Paris-

Annie: Well, you've wanted to go there anyhow.

Amy: That's true. But what would I do with George? I can't just go and leave him.

Annie: Well, you could talk to him. I'm sure he'd be okay. I mean, I'm sure there are like, other girls, dying to be with George and so, he wouldn't be alone.

Amy: You sound a bit, um, I don't know-strange-when you speak about George.

Annie: Well, I-

Amy: Like you've got a soft spot for him or something.

Annie: Well, I-I've always kinda liked George, but I knew that he really liked you and that you two got together, so I didn't want to, like, butt in and say anything. But, since, Pierre's in the picture now, yeah, you could be off with Pierre.

very nice and realistic dialogue. really enjoyed it. as a dude, I know for a fact we don't talk like this, but I hang out with some girls and you've really captured the patterns and humor of the opposite sex (opposite for me that is lol)

I love the way you've made a believable story out of just dialogue, that's pretty impressive! Do you have any friends who speak like this? It's very realistic and I could hear them talking in my head. Okay that makes me sound like a psycho. But you know what I mean?

It takes talent and immagination to make a story out of pure dialogue . . . You pulled it off here . . . The ending was a pleasant surprise . . . Her girlfriend had the hots for old George all along . . . gotta love it . . .
