Adeline
Be careful, not to be unkind to the old woman.
For it may be that her son is the Lion
And your descendants will be under his mercy.
If you bear no love for her, respect
She does deserve. For when you were a babe
She loved you, when your mother did not care.
She does not asks for gifts as other did
Now that you are on your pinnacle.
But be watchful, for in your wrongs
To her, fate may judge you and you
And your sons and daughters will be cursed
To taste dust and no illumination to your sky
Shall be given by the stars
For they, though distant, love their mothers.
Be kind to the old woman, for it may be
That his son is the lion.

hi there! I like this, it's short but powerful and have some good imageries. I really enjoyed your diction, it gives the poem that flow to it. Hmm, if i could pick one imagery, it would be,
"But be watchful, for in your wrongs
To her, fate may judge you and you
And your sons and daughters will be cursed
To taste dust and no illumination to your sky"
the enjabment is really effective, keep writing! Also, if you don't mind, can you review...http://www.editred.com/Uploads/st_27855_I_want_to_get_you_out_of thanks! |
