the corrosion of humanity
"Sure we can be friends, I understand it perfectly"
tell me lies...
"Of course I'm not jealous if you go out with him"
sweet little lies...
"I just love you honey, wouldn't thought of anybody else"
again and again...
And with each sweet little lie the wall of decency breaks down a bit more.
And yet, with each sweet little lie it's getting harder to tell the truth....

| Brice, please fix the line "I just love you honey, [I] wouldn't [have] thought of anybody else. Otherwise, this short story is so true for everyone. (It echoes words I have said many times--LOL -- "Sure we can be friends, I understand perfectly." --I could just kick myself, really. LOL) Thanks for writing what I wouldn't have had the courage to do so myself. |

| of course politcian would fit the bill, but I was thinking more generally, any kind of person who wants anything from anyone is due to lie at one time or another ;-) |
