Freedom was Knocking at my Door
Emotion, real emotion
So intense, the passion, flowin through my veins
The notebook is full, the ink no longer spills
Across the pad, that once gave birth
to a love that no one cared to see before
A love that filled our hearts and gave us something to
live for, fight for, die for, now that love is no more.
If I had wings I would fly away from here
Deep down into the dark abyss
Locked away tightly, drained of life entirely
Awaiting the right moment
To awaken the light that once shined so brightly
Seeking to put my mind at ease and find the words to speak
My only wish to inspire you to live, to think
Perhaps to open your eyes, even if just a little at a time
Maybe see things for the very first time
To shed a little light in this dark place you call home
Provide a little warmth when you are sad, lonely and cold
Youre not alone, its you and I
Our differences aside, together we can survive
Forget about our pride and insecurities
Fear is the only thing thats keeping you from me
Compare not, acceptance is key
Take my hand and continue to breathe
Close your eyes. Get lost in the words I speak
Clear your mind, unwind, and begin to think
Not the past, not the future, its the now we seek
Change starts with you, it starts with me
Building a foundation that will never break
Revolution is alive today, stand up
Assemble the masses,
An undiscovered truth, spreading meaning today
Like a virus, shutting down the airways
A lyrical protest, the essence of true beauty in motion
A dream that I had some time ago
Freedom was knocking on my door
