The pain of happiness

They say life is cold
I'm in the fucking freezer
I can't stand the pain
Or the heartbreak either
I have death on the left
Devestation on the right
I'm living in pain
I ask why do I fight
Through all this shit
pain and fear
I am the one
who can't shed a tear
I keep others strong
I keep the happiness
All this is so wrong
I can't believe this shit is happening
But I will keep my cool
And still maintain a smile
I have others to strengthen
I swear to keep them happy all the while...

I enjoyed this piece and have felt the angst that you write about. It is a very powerful piece filled with emotion, I could feel the anger radiating off it. Good write.

Like Jamilah says, "stuff happens," so my darling, keep a stiff upper lip, and eventually things will turn around. Believe me they will.
Being young should be the best ever, but for some it just doesn't work out that way. Keep writing. I see promise here.

Incidentally, we do not live that far away from each other. I've been to Gurnee.

They say life's a shit sandwhich, take a bite.

A happy face will eventually crack and show its true colours. Its a hard world and only the tough make it in the end. Sometimes it can feel as though you're sufficatng under the wieght of too many problems. It is then that one should release tension.

Someone once told me that problems are like a balloon. The more air (problems) that is placed in it the more it expands and if some of the air is not released it expands and expands until it eventually explodes, usually unexpectedly. The results can be just as unpredictable.

Good poem.

if one does not express his or her own feelings, one may actually kill themsleves mentally....through pain one learns
through happiness one is encouraged
which one would you choose next time someone has a problem?
you need to express yourself first and foremost
before even handling anyone elses problems
or the pressure will eventually tear you into pieces
is it best to feel the pain build up inside of you,and not express it,and then after your couple of smiles are over with,do you eventually cry?
I sure hope so...
I remember being that kind of person
and I remember it tearing me apart
until finally I realized that you have to suffer and deal properly with yourself with help
then let out your one true smile
that has been withered away all because you have been putting others before yourself....

*Sigh* You're not the only one one with crap to deal with and just have to keep 'smiling' and pretend to be happy etc. But, eventually, it gets better over time. Your poem was brillant. Nice way to write done angry moods!
