Passions of Green
Sunlight dotted
on papery leaves;
smooth lifelines
unbroken, reaching
to tips like fingers,
delicately touching
each breeze.
Algae atop the water,
pooling lazily like grease;
soft grasses tickling
slender necks; the earth
below, swarming with insects.
As dusk sets in,
passions of green
fade to emerald;
lovely; smudged with
lakes of blue denim.
