Integrated Math Protest organiZation

Our mission
To abolish the socialistic hypocritical system that is called the Integrated or Unified Math curriculum and to restore 'traditional math' classes for all students.

We are appalled at how we are expected to learn how to 'interact and problem solve with other people' during math class and want to be taught individual, old-fashioned, traditional math. We question whether colleges really value what these classes are teaching us and whether the patterns we learn in this class will actually help us in the real world. These patterns include constantly depending on other people for accuracy and undertsanding.

The lack of homework grading, the 'group-work' principle, and the allowance of notes on tests allow unmotivated Integrated Math students to not actually complete the work and skate by without learning any mathematical concepts.

We call Integrated Math socialistic hypocrisy because at the same time we are told that the group work teaches us how to problem solve with other people in the real world, and that we should work only with the data we are given and not apply real world principles. Integrated Math teaches us that working in groups is how mathematical problem solving will always be done in the real world. We are expected to unquestioningly accept this as truth.

The secondary purpose of this organization it to exercise our right to free speech and to demonstrate the power and influence of the student; we will go to any means, within the law of the State and Nation to achieve our mission.

Note: in order to further our goals and/or spread our beliefs IMPZ will be electing several members to represent us in the ASB election this year.

I am one of the IMPZ asb representitive. DOWN WITH INTEGRATED MATH!!
the truth of the matter is that collages DO NOT value I.M. as much as any traditional math. I.M. teaches you only how to think about an answer but does not value correctness. so long as you back it up, what you respond does not matter. students are NOT better off for I.M., the plain and simple truth is I learn more advanced math, faster with two years of alebra than in four years of integrated math.
RETURN US TO OUR OLD MATH SYSTEM!!!

It's about time someone spoke up. I took "new" math when it was still new (back in the 60s) and nearly flunked 4th grade.
