price of freedom
U.S. CASUALTIES: As of Tuesday, December 19, 2,949 U.S. service members have died since the war in Iraq began in March 2003: 2,369 in combat and 580 from non-combat related incidents and accidents. The most often cited number for those killed in America on Sept. 11, 2001, is 2,973, leaving the Iraq tally just 24 short.
Injured service members total 12,351. In the last week, ,16 U.S. soldiers died. The monthly total so far this month....54.
Since President George W. Bush declared "mission accomplished" aboard the USS Abraham Lincoln on May 1, 2003, 2,803 soldiers have died. mission accomplished? I think not. When will enough be enough? seriously.
Also the us troop suicide rate has doubled since the beginning of this war. I can't even imagine. It makes you wonder how does our president, "our leader" sleep at night.

All this and for what? what progress has been made?
If freedom had a cost how much would it be? Freedom, the very dream of every living being. But free can we ever be? How many must die for freedom to be achieved? And even then are we truly free?
