Losing It

I'm losing it, can't you see
Can't you see that
In the darkness spread out before you
In barren lightness
That is me, just myself
Here standing before you
Naked in the flesh
Am I, losing it.

Why cannot you see?
The way I cast my burdened shadows
Against the blank walls
The method I chose to avoid you
Becoming purely uncovered
Yet so untouchable
In the vast and forbidden halls.
Please surrender your quest
And give to me
All your angst filled helplessness
And physical self need.
Pouring yet you do, all the honey you altered
Upon the dispossessed which
So sorry my love, Is me.

I'm losing it
Losing it slowly in the beginning
But ever so quickly now.
Nothing there to hold me back
Nothing more to slow it down.
My mind quivers and shakes
My body unnerved by its own existence
Momentarily quakes.
Wanting to splurge its mess
Demanding that upon the vastness
Of feelings
Somehow gracefully will it be understood
At last.

Damn it all
And leave me here to shake
For within my very soul I tremble
And encompassed within my soul
Along with your sugared mass of honey
Do I forevermore
Naked deep into the night
Sorrowfully quake.

D.L. Clarke
