House of Stone

It doesn't seem that difficult
To capture an emotion, inside
But to rise above the understanding
Alas, such a commitment
That no one can comprehend.

It doesn't seem so prevalent
This need for comprehension
Some might presume
To think out loud.
What is the cause?

One may even ponder:
Such pain
Such anger
Such lack
Of understanding
So complicated the depth.

Too much trouble
Too sensitive
Too emotional
Why bother?
One may tend to inquire.

Some cannot be understood
Therefore no comprehension to avail-
One may shout out into the blackened skies.

Why this need
For someone to actually care
To give concern
To bother?
It is useless
One may even attempt to define.
Stop trying
To be understood
And just live your life
One may recommend
Whole heartedly.

It doesn't seem so necessary
After all
To be heard.
Just leave them alone
Blind
Inhibited
Scared and alone
In their empty houses
Built of darkened stone.
