Word Mosaics
Word Mosaics
'Joy to the world,' church bells pealed,
Over the city's din,
'Allah ho Akbar,' minarets crooned,
Loftily skyward,
Temples echoed euphoric chants,
Ingratiating deity,
Collectively creating an ambient
Amenable harmony.
Psalms, odes, sonnets, carols, hymns,
Quixotic axioms, opulent discourse
May, the omniscient preserve,
The dons of dialogue!
Muses remain adept sorcerers,
With idioms, clichés, metaphors,
Swish wand of the quill, to create,
Excruciating beauty or pathos!
Raconteurs, be knights of pen,
In sagas, engaging tales,
Tame fact or fiction with,
Their sharp pointed epees!
Preserving celebrated tradition of,
Penchant for the written word,
Continue conferring on posterity,
Exquisite souvenirs of word mosaics!
The Word was, in the beginning-
Every beginning, still be the word
