A Cliched Christmas

The tree lights are twinkling
The chestnuts are roasting
The turkey is cooking
The presents we are opening
Our hearts filled with joy
Playing with a new toy
A girl acting coy
As she's kissed by a boy
The mistletoe's hanging
There's Carollers singing
The family is coming
The drink we are downing
Christmas is here
Reflect on the past year
Lets all give a cheer
As we approach a new year

Methinks this is a tongue in cheek piece of writing, hence the title, lol.

Yes, be careful of roasting your chestnuts. Those log fires can be quite hot.

Lets all give...should have an apostrophe in Let's as it is the contracted term of Let us.

Nice and sweet. Descriptive to a point that is non-nauseating, and same goes with the rhyming.
