Sonnet to a Still Small Voice

O voice mightier than 7 carved ram horns
Whose blast entombed old Jericho's walls;
Life Preserver, encircling this spinning squall
Come like a whisper, gently rescue the forlorn'd
Unfetter me from my thorny wooden scorn
Make a cacophony of the siren's call,
Ensure in this broken canter, I do not fall
And death of Lazarus is no longer mourn'd.
Strange elation's found when your dulcet notes
Espouse my doleful song in libretto and pitch;
My search stops a moment to retie its shoe,
And spies another staring upward from our ditch:
Defiantly decided on forgoing old Charon's boat
We will arise to quiet ourselves anew.
