I knew a man once who dared dream of things that seemed impossibleI knew a man once who set goals that some deemed improbableI knew a man once whose heart seemed unbreakable I knew a man once whose swagger seemed unmistakableArmed with nothing more than the confidence in himselfThis man set out to succeed where other said he would notStayed away from the prisons where some said he would rotThis man wanted nothing more than to make something of himselfBasically he wanted to achieve a certain statusThat brought him nothing but wealthIn his mind...Coming from nothing and achieving this meant everything in the worldHe had money, power and respectPlus he was hooking up with tons of girlsNone of them meant anything until he met "her"So beautifulShe was draped in the best diamonds and fursHe courted her for one year until they got marriedLeft her at home for nine months with the baby she carried...But don't misunderstandHe loved her very muchBut...There was someone else he was obsessed withHis selfHis careerAnd everything else in betweenI guess having a successful career and a family Is nothing more than a dreamHis career was finished and his life was overIt took fifteen long years for him to ever get soberBut by then It was too lateAnd only God had the answerI stood there holding his handWhile he died of cancerBut don't get me wrongI say this not to make you fear fame and gloryIt's only...That man was my fatherAnd remember:"It's just a story."
