In Times Like This

In times like this,
In seasons like this.

When there are tough trials
And there are hot tears.

When moving forward is hard
And going backward is bad.

When all the pieces do not fit
And the peace is no more felt.

When you need care in all areas
And nobody dares to care.

When the fear is painted
And the faith is fainted.

When the heart is sick
And the hands are weak.

When it seems all is lost
And the joy is gone.

In terrible times,
In turbulent times.

Don't ever chatter to yourself
But cleverly master yourself.

Don't talk about your problems
But talk to your problems.

Don't weigh your sorrow
But wave to your sorrow.

Don't listen to the world
But cling to the Word.

Don't run to the god
But turn to your God
And He will see you through.

I enjoyed reading your poem. I found it full of faith and power... I liked the style of writing you chose for this, it fit well. Good job.
Thank you for reading my poem and commenting. Good luck in all you do and God Bless.

I usually avoid any poems to do with god - my own experience of conventional religion has given me cause to reject religious god.
But the one you thoughtfully named 'your God' points me to my inner relationship with what is deeply sacred to me. This ending provides a heartfelt conclusion to the rest of the poem, which I thought was an effective way of portraying deep troubles, without being too wordy or indulgent as some 'hard times' poems can be.
Really lovely - a lot of power in that thoughtful ending.

'Talk to your problems' - a fine line in a heart-warming poem. The didactic voice came across very powerfully.
