Class of Disrespect
They laugh in the face of death
For them,
such a mere joke
Mundane, to smile and scoff without regard
For those weeping'¦
and weeping'¦
Oh, how they weep in the wake of death
lost, wandering in loneliness
and shedding tears of pain
for a friend; a recent pass away
a student mourns for their friend
a 21 year old, kind hearted boy,
who died in a freak accident,
with a bike, a car, and a kerb.
a friend, a son, a brother, an uncle'¦
his life is gone, lost;
for now
the student also weeps,
at the passing of a mentor
a tutor, and a dear friend
who was lead to death's door,
by cancer's grim hands.
The lives lost, are gone.
For now,
but not for ever.
I have hope-
I grieve like everyone else,
but I have hope;
unlike everyone else.
I will see them again.
For now, the students
they can laugh all they want'¦
After all,
ignorance is bliss!
But so, too, is knowledge.
