Event Horizon Of My Own Self-Doubt

Detained.
Restrained.
In the event horizon
Of my own self-doubt

Afraid-
(motionless)
Unable to reach out

The void-
Keeping me constrained;
Unable to improve myself

All my dreams,
Desires-
Fighting to get out

(that part of me,
Capable of imprinting
All my dreams
& desires
Unto reality)

-that part of me-
Contracted
By fear
Of failure
Obliged upon me
By the enlarging
Of my own self-doubt
Destroying me from the inside
Out

I really felt this one. After reading it three times I could hardly breathe! You've done an amazing job portraying the emotions. Suffocatingly Brilliant!!!
Awesome! :)

I think you've captured the fear and restraint you feel here by the actual structure of this poem: it's condensed to the most relevant blips, with short consise lines and chopped up stanzas.

nice form, with a subject we all relate to

Really liked the last two lines. I think we all suffer from self doubt at one time or another. It is when we let it rule our lives that we begin to fade.**
