about flowers
he was a writer of purple prose
talk of gilded lily, petals of the rose
tongue curled in latin phrases
a gentle finger tracing mazes
daedal whorl of thumb, the tutored tongue
a taste, no haste, and into her he sung
love poetry like rosewater over his soul
cleansed his palate and purified his whole
a fluid translation of movement into heat
this bloom by any other name is still as sweet

*sighs* This reminds me of someone. :)
Remember how I said "Sisyphus" was my favorite by you. Sorry, that's been replaced by this poem. It's as if you brought me a garden and placed it at my feet. Wonderful, extraordinary work. BOOKSHELVED!

| Is this about deflowering a virgin? It certainly reads like it to me but maybe I have a dirty mind :-) Either way, the use of the flowers was REALLY nice - and I liked the classical reference - a REALLY nice poem :-) |

it's lovely how there's the thread throughout this, the mixture of words and flowers is wonderful and interwoven.
