Stop all the dreaming
I'm giving up on day dreaming
I'm giving up the songs
I'm giving up on imagaing
It's only done me wrong.
I'm putting a stop to all that hope
It doesn't serve me now;
Fluttering for a moment
And only to fall back down.
My hearts too bruised
To keep being lifted
The brain leading it on
Luring it in.
But it's only reality that awaits
It's only dissappointment.
So I'm giving up on dreaming.
Giving up on songs.
Ceasing all the wishing.
Knowing it does wrong.

Nice music. It's the blues. Waitin' for Morgan Freeman to say, "Excuse me a moment ..."
Your meter works. Your rhyme works. Yet you are a slave to neither. |

| This is a wonderful read with a sad conclusion |
|
|
| Yes it does flow, like a song, a sad song. The voice in the poem sound sad, in fact, depressed. She has fallen into despaired and has given up on her quest, her dreams, and her hopes. When I finished with the read all I could say was, "Poor child, I hope you find a spark of life again. Without our dreams what is left in live?" |
