Peripheral Vision

You were laid under a dark blue sleeping bag
as we watched events unfold at Sun Hill
your feet tucked under and close to my thigh

Reclining like some languid Indian goddess
with your large nose and heavy eyelids
chewing the nails of your exquisite fingers
