Holding On

I gaze up at the beautiful baby blue sky
and I anticipate the promise of everlong happiness
The warm soothing rays of sunshine cast a glimmer
of hope onto an ordinarily bleak and dreary canvas
Every thought and every desire for the future
rests on the prospect of knowing an existance
far beyond the boundaries of the clouds
My sense of sorrow will be lifted when I can
finally reach an alternate plane of peace-
An amazing world of second chances and
long-awaited reunions
I dream of a heaven that waits patiently
for my arrival because its the one beacon of light
that convinces me to continue holding on

The thought behind this read is dream provoking. However, if it were broken into stanza's and added to it would be powerful.

one thing - "its" should be "it's" near the end...
this is kind of sad:( you have such great imagery here describing the day and how beautiful it is, and then go on to pretty much say that it doesn't mean anything because it's not heaven. i've paraphrased quite a bit here, i realize, but...that bothers me a little. nicely written. great imagery, though it could probably be trimmed up a bit.
