Rejection

Oh how I hoped you would see me


As I watched you as you sit there


With your humor and ease as you spoke


yet you held youself back


I thought I saw the man behind the screen


Maybe I did see the lonely person underneath


See me you never did,


nothing wrong, nothing right


oh how I cried that night


moving on is harder than I thought


with you forever in my sight

lisa- this may be one of my favorites of your poems. longing, from afar, for someone who remains so close... that may possibly be the most frusrating of all! you captured that frustration and disappointment so well.
