Let your heart speak my mind

I plead for passion
you show compassion
rock of a hug
crushing my heart

broken hearts fleeing
the mire outgrow
the bounds and flop
manure to the swamp

homes, dark corners
of our rooms, are
the actual battlefield
war is for the brave

where mud houses
are mere dreams
love grows homeless
wild and brief

so let your heart speak
my mind, broken fences
mend our hearts and
bury alive all our sins

"Rock of a heart
Crushing my heart"
Loved this line.

And I would not delete the actual word, it adds more to it

liked the tone of this one.
would delete 'the actual battlefield' to read 'the battlefield'...
especially liked the second to last verse - it rang true and is a beautiful way to express those thoughts.
