50 word challenge - The Boss Machine

I viewed his rusted servos skeptically, 'So where's the metal from this kill?'

'I ate it boss!'

'You ate it all? Whaddabout my cut?' My tank-engine growled menacingly.

'I was so hungry!' The thresher wilted.

'To think, the only Lincoln Navigator I've seen in 50 years, and YOU ate it!'

Tough to get much done in 50 words, but you really managed to pull it off... Even inf it was in 51.. The punchline actually made me laugh out loud, get my roommate's attention and have him read it. Well done Sir!

*falls on floor laughing* The Sopranos With Bumpers! Oh, this was rich, very good. What an imaginative take on a hard word count and subject. *claps*

RE: the word count. 800 years ago, when I was in school, word counts were done by counting letters, not words. Five letters constituted one word. It's how we calculated how many words we typed a minute. I think that rule still stands. Anyway, the EditRed word count may do the same thing. I'm pretty sure because I edited a story and replaced a short word with a longer one and got 51 words instead of the 50 I had before.

Whatever the case, I'm impressed with your story, Josh. Great job.

lol 51 words, don't trust the editred word counter! It lies! Cut and past this into your word processor (I used MS Word) and it'll read 50 words. I am not sure why editred has a faulty word counter, but it's annoying when it comes to very small flash stories! Thanks for the suggestions on "eat" to "ate" I'll take it.
