DEATH OF A DREAM

Like a single tear that falls
Unto the ocean's deepest blue,
Lost within its torrents wild
I've lost the dream of you.

Long after memories have faded from time
I'll remember the warmth of your smile,
Long after Heaven lessens its light
I'll remember our love for all while.

Like the last beat of a broken heart
Which hath no cause to mend,
It drifts unto eternities light
Does seek, but ne'er doth find its end.

Like a single tear that falls
'Tis lost within the stream,
What doth call the soul to cry
Naught, like the death of a dream.

This is probably my favorite work of yours. The words you choose are practically perfect. I don't know if the first and third lines of each quartet were supposed to rhyme or not.

If you could get them to rhyme you'd easily be the equal of Spenser.

Cant you get "it" straight Lance?, oops that was hypocrytical of me. just kiddin. I thought I spotted some humor but my sight isnt always so good. Id say it says little for her if sh's but a single tear drop dream lost. What of her who proves the ocean of your dreams engulfing all the small tear drop thoughts of others? Was this once she, but thus no longer?
