Probability Density Function

Snifferlers, the sound rapes my ear
causes my left eye to twitch,
dissolves any semblance of logical reason.
Desks that have been built not designed.
Ink Spoiled from writing against the flow,
the paper shouts incoherently, a scream of nonsensical language.
Focus!

The probability density function is given.
Find the probability of the event happening
when x is a value between 1/7 and 1/42.

Synapses fire up, prob dense function,
sub in values of x and solve'¦ no wrong approach.
Integration'¦ but what type? Definite obviously ,
so reverse the process of derivations and
you should g'¦ shit.

That m is not meant to be there,
damn unknown variables, but this is stats
therefore let the range of the definite integral be
between 0 and m and let it equal 1
hence m can be found and the answer.

Neatly draw a line through failed attempts
and next question.
Find a 98% confidence interval for'¦

Wow, this brings back memories of my school days, maths was my second worse subject so this poem should have confused me immensely. It did! In a good way though of course.

I think you might be onto something here though, the fusion of maths and poetry, perhaps it could be employed by maverick teachers as a radical way of teaching. You could call it Poematics, or (and I prefer this one) Mathemoetry!

Anyway, all of this equates to (see what I've done there?) a big thumbs up from me.

Wow! That opening line, lol. I'd be the one distracting you *snort snort* Anywho, I was QUITE overwhelmed by the fact that you mixed math with poetry. Now why would anyone want to do THAT? Lol. But this works nicely. I enjoyed the intesity of it all. Very delicious.

Hehe, I like it. It sums up the confusion I often feel when studying maths, and in some aspects physics. (Alot of it's maths based) Your poem flows, even with all the maths vocabulary, and I agree with what's been said about it before, it doesn't matter if you don't know alot about the subject - you understand the confusion. Nice work. I like it. Kat x x

Aha, a fellow high-schooler steeped in the sewage that is mathematics. I tip my hat to you, sir, and tell you that you are not at all alone.
