There to Love
19 February 2007
To awake in your thoughts,
and know in my heart you were there.
In a picture of your soul upon my face,
your being beside me, in all of grace.
A poet and his muse,
your beauty and my own to choose.
Of a choice made upon a lonely night,
you beside me in kind,
cuddled up safely upon my mind.
Toward this desire,
not to hide away love.
Neither to forbid our dream,
lips touching verbally,
to know all was well.
For love was fortitude,
a fortune more precious than gold.
The poet and his destiny,
life or even to death,
my love for you,
in thoughts true.
"How precious also are thy thoughts unto me,
O God! how great is the sum of them!"
Psalms 139: 17 KJV
