Are You a Food Addict?

The society in which we live has been proliferating the lie that food addiction doesn't exist ever since the advent of capitalism. At the risk of descending into cliche, history is written by the winners. And by winners I mean, of course, the rich. Food was the weapon that helped capitalism defeat socialism and totalitarianism to become the most prominent form of control over man. I am not speaking only of the hard shell of the coconut or the slippery peel of the banana, both excellent weaponry, I am also speaking of the assault upon the mind of man. The capitalist media uses everything at it's disposal to brainwash and hypnotize us into believing that habitual food utilization is not only normal, but healthy!

One cannot listen to the radio, watch the television, or even read a book without having pro-food propaganda shoved down their throats. It only took a few generations until food addiction was being taught as a natural life choice in family units and displayed as the cool thing to do by friends and other peers. Soon three meals a day were not enough for many, Brunch and Linner had to be added. The addition of numerous "snacking" times was next. At this rate people will soon be eating constantly - while taking showers, having sexual relations, and sleeping.

You probably have decided that I must suffer from a psychological problem, if not more than one. You probably believe that eating is as important to life as breathing is. In fact I'm sure you believe all of the lies that THEY teach to you in their health courses in their schools. Smoking, drinking, unprotected sex - none of these acts are dangerous unless combined with food. But, I digress.... the primary difference between breathing and eating is that breathing is done completely without thought while, unless your food addiction is far worse than average, consuming food requires conscious effort.

Even if I have, at this juncture, convinced you of the truth about food, you are most likely still laboring under the oppressive impression that there are not any negative consequences to this vice. Food addiction leads to crime as many addicts cannot afford to feed their habit and they are forced into a life of thievery. Statistics show that nine out of ten times a car, backpack, or wallet are stolen the perpetrator is a food addict. When one of the seven wonders of the world is stolen usually Carmen Sandiego, a known food addict, is to blame. Virginity is typically stolen by Dean Forester, who owes his boyish good looks to what I call an anti-diet. This brings me to an important point, eating disorders. The characterizing of bulimia and anorexia as diseases or disorders is absolute poppycock of the highest impracticality, in truth they are steps in the right direction.

FUN FACTS ABOUT FOOD ADDICTION

hmmm intresting points but i dont think i agree that you say bulimia is a step in the right direction. food is a nesseity for living, not a luxury as u seem to imply here. if thats not the case then sorry.
although i do belive that some people can become addicted to eating, just the same as someone can become addicted to drugs etc.

overall an intresting peice that gives you food for thought (no pun intended) but i cant say i fully agree
