Giving it all

While watching the funeral for Rosa Parks,
I was reminded that one woman went for broke
and gave it all for a seat on a bus.

It was not a huge thing Rosa did; we thought
But it was a complete thing Rosa did; we now know.
Or others could have done it before.

And that was an era when we fought injustice
we were into being, getting, having
equality, justice, for all because we are all.

Today people seem content with little
and just want more of what means nothing
gone are the times of mass rebellion.

That is why we mourn instead of fight for
one person, one child lost, killed, or enslaved
our souls are empty with nothing.

Rosa was full, and her actions liberated all of us
and she would have opposed by the same
who today still carry the torch of subjugation.

What Rosa Parks did was not a little something
she gave her life for that bus seat
all she had and all we have is our life.

Rosa could have been stoned by the bigots
whom we feed with our sons and daughters
to keep the statue-quo of acceptable injustice.

Help us Rosa to stand and not kneel at the pew of fear
that turns us into sheep that slaughter others
and keeps us in hell by threatening us with heaven.

I'm not entirely sure what the message of this poem is. It seems a little cynical in some points, and as if it's praising her in others.
