Nowspeak

You say this is Newspeak
But eventually new grows old.
This is something else...
this is their Nowspeak

- Fluid, evolving
bastardised, lazy
- point,
counterpoint

- If new can grow old
- surely now can become then?
but when it does
the need for language
will not be left behind
- nor will the desire to make it easier,
- so why not let them have their newspeak
let us not give them the satisfaction
of calling anything new
for that implies it is theirs
- To stop language evolving is the
- first step towards its languid death
but to let others tear it apart
is to bear witness to its murder
- Language takes its course, - dictated by its usage
- and not by its mould
this is my concern,
how can one stop a natural decline?
- one can only hope that,
- (like so many things)
- language is cyclic - and this too will pass
I hope you're right, because if not
ths is nwspk,we r the ded

dis wuz gr8 m8! Seriously, you do, of course, have a point. Even teachers can't spell these days, so what hope is there for the kids! This great language of ours should, as you say, evolve and not rot.

Those last 2 lines are really chilling. Great way to end it.
