Walk

My footsteps take me away
I want them to be lasting
But I can't escape your ghost
Apparitions of love that haunt me

The clubs I drink in
The restaurants I eat from
My friends don't see it
Only I see the dead love

I laugh at you
I walk on by
Acting as if I can't see
Don't want to see

I try to remember the bad
But can only see the good
You seem so fine
I wish I could be you

But I'm not like you
And I can't move on like you
So I smile and grin
And pretend I don't see your ghost

I like it, it flows well, but I don't think your title works. I always think titles are rather impotant.

Great piece, and something anyone who's loved and lost can relate to. Well done!

I enjoyed how you addressed the way we all pretent we no longer care when we do. With ghost of my love could tat also be in part the rejections of your own feeling toward your love lost?

The line "apparitions of love that haunt me,' was used to great effect. I think you really connected with the feeling of loss in an ended relationship, believable emotion in your words.

I enjoyed this poem very much. While reading it I could picture a few of the "ghost" that seem to follow me.
