Hope springs Eternal

Springs of hope litter the mind
cascades of water
telling of the pains left behind

Only when you forgive the past
will darkness relent
and the burning light be vast

Unleash the weight from your back
walk forward merrily
upon life's unknown track

Tis those that leave bitterness at their feet
are the ones
that know life can be so sweet.

If you write this as a sentence, it would read:

It is those that leave bitterness at their feet are the ones that know life can be so sweet.

It would make sense if it were without the "Tis". Maybe it is license that you have taken, but it just seemed odd.

if there is one thing that i know it is that if you do not have hope then you do not have life. i loved how you mentioned about giving up the darkness, it really is the only way forward. wonderful piece.

this is just such a positive and hope giving piece of writing. I really enjoyed reading it, it created a smile on my face. The part to stand out the most, the ending. So true that you must leave your bitterness behind so you can happily move forward. :-) Cindy
