A snicket from my story American Deff

"Hello?" He answered the phone by pressing the talk button. There was no answer, only a steady deep breathing.
"Evelyn?" He asked worridly. Still no reply aside from the constant deep breathing.
"Okay Ev this isn't funny..." He said nervously into the phone. He didn't stop walking even though he was on the phone. His shoulder brushed against the dark redish black brick wall that shielded one side of the apartment building from the outside world.
