Lost Soul

Deep blue pools of despair,

tears flowing since nobody cares.

She screams into emptiness,

as darkness pierces the light.

Eyes always searching through the night.

A shadow falls upon the floor,

a ray of hope glimmers in her eyes.

She rushes to the door,

but alas he is not there,

it is just a tree in the wind.

Her happiness quickly fades,

her love is still miles away.

The morning light appears,

cutting through the darkness.

A horn blasts the silence,

as a truck pulls into the drive.

She runs out the door,

into his arms forever more.

I think what you did with the rhyme scheme is really cool and mirrors the content well.

I enjoyed reading this poem because I think that many girls and even guys get their hopes up that the person they once lost would come back home and realize that they never should have left.
