Dark houses of the gods
hover
over indispensable "us",
as we primp and preen
posturing ourselves
with leaded feet -
as to not loose
solid ground.
We bow our heads
assuming
there is a power above us,
churning in
such dark houses,
turning over
lives for other lives
while we wait -
poised in content
yet sulking
about our
seeming lack of power.
A dichotomy in reverse,
as we softly place our faith
in powers beyond us
without cementing faith
in ourselves
first.
