Love stories
Words covering me,
Like a swarm of bees on honey,
Emotions sinking fast,
As realisation dawns,
Reaction is nothing,
The feelings are everything,
Knees going weak,
As it washes over me,
Leaving the taste,
Of polluted love stories in my mouth.
I was living in the dream,
Of what I wanted to happen,
Not what was,
Your head was filled of her,
Of the passion of that night,
With the darkness and excitement,
Leaving you breathless,
Clinging to her heart,
Holding my hand,
Wanting and needing.
She comforted me when I cried,
Made everything complete,
She said she would never lie,
And raise me up when I fell,
All he had to do
Was kiss her once,
Tell her to forget,
And she fell into his arms,
And they soared above me
On black satin wings.
The end was long ago,
But the blood still came
When the truth was unearthed,
Not knowing till now,
Makes it that so much harder,
And even though I don't call you mine,
I finally feel alone,
And the mourning starts again,
Until the next heartache,
And I find myself asking
Is it worth it?
