this is not some holiday

It's 3am
and we don't care about waking anyone
tonight
the beach is lit
and bathed in neon
we're still drinking
and don't care about tomorrow
the sand is more stones
than sand
falling over
one another
you don't stop laughing
the bitter cold is reassuring
us we are still alive

this is not some
holiday
this is not some
holiday
this is our life
at least in summer

time is just
a concept
to which we are not a part
collapsed on a street bench
lying arm in arm
that's where you kissed me
and drank a little more
passed by the couples
who like to run together
we skip along the sea wall
aware of how we look
but we don't care
anymore
we don't care

this is not some
holiday
this is not some
holiday
this is our life
at least in summer

passing by the
pier
the smell of breakfast
overwhelms us
we scrape together
whatever we have left
it's just enough for coffee
but we weren't hungry anyway
sat up on the cliffs
looking over town
you share your
last cigarette
with me
and there we sleep
until noon

this is not some
holiday
this is our life

This one I NEED to hear put to music. Very good imagery, the pattern sings so I knew not to even attempt to read it like a straight poem hence I didn't find it stumbly at all.

i love this--it should be a song! and how you've taken these events nothing extraordinary alone, separate, but wonderful experiences in sum. just a great slice of life! nice. thanks for posting.

this is well done, the only crit I would give is the format is a little stumbly (that might be on account of me being retarded though) - I would reconsider your line breaks. Other then thet trivial matter, the work it self is very well done!
