City Faces

Yellow
Brown
Black
And white.
A rainbow of colors
A cultural fusion.
Ancient traditions
Religious rituals
and celebrations
Fill the streets.
An aromatic melee of steaming foods
Partygoers
Observers
Worshippers
Co-existing
Celebrating
Under the blue moon
Casting shadows in the city square.

oooo i love the chill the last line gave me. these shaddows, these memories and ways of life and histories are really cast by everyone from every walk, and yet, in the end, they all look the same. beautiful poem.

Somehow this brings to mind a haiku poem---but isn't, yet flows well and brings vivid imagery to the reader.

yeah, city face, hueful, versatile, city face
all they could walk looking good
looking heavenly,
without leaving a mark,
on the pavement

josteling through the crowd
cruising, trotting, strolling
forgeting everything-
that they root back to rustic life
that they once had value in the rust

they nudge you down, the colorful pedestarians
the partigoers
the marriage prosessors
the uncultured people showing cultures
various
always in oblivion
that they unrealize- the part they occupy
the part
where a saint was murdered
where a chile was rolled over
where a tramp was looted
where peoeple were fired
like in the Kathmandu's street

you cannot pace up,
a guy who is used to rambling
but the walk pusing you into labyrinth of despair
Home preoccupied with the plan of next day
City face
yeah city face
