Do You Still Love Me?

Do you still love me
When I break your
Favorite serving dish
The one your grandma gave you
With the tiny blue flowers?

Do you still love me
When my teacher calls
And wants to meet
About my report card?
She doesn't sound happy
You don't look happy

Do you still love me
When you don't tell your
Boyfriends about me?

Do you still love me
When they don't call again
After they finally find out?

Do you still love me
When you're angry
When you're yelling?
When the people in the apartment
Next-door start banging on the walls?

Do you still love me
When you're crying
Saying you'd be better off
If I was never born?

Do you still love me
When you say you hate me?

I still love you.

uncertainity, unreciprocated unconditional love - my inner child made 'that feeling' in my stomach; great work as always Emma

so very touching...sad but so true, sometimes parents lose sight of right and wrong and just how they should treat young ones. Being a child is VERY hard. You did a really nice job at capturing this perspective.

be nice to see another line after "I still love you." take it it about a parent...prob mother not father..be nice to add the twist..daddy I do.

Wow. I really liked this poem. It made me feel like a child wondering if my mother loved me conditionally (like I feared)or unconditionally (like I was hoping).
