Every Sunrise is a Sunset

Life can be seen through a window at dawn
Never known to the full
And as little ignored
Only ever luke-warm
On the tongue of a corpse
In immortal delusion
And dream

Every sunrise a sunset, aye
A card face down
Look up, one four-by-four
Paper crown
And spill from the 'burbs to the car
To the town
To enjoy the dancing
The terrible dancing
And become the curb
In electric light
And to listen to shadows
That offer their silence
And eat you alive
In the night
